Our Story

Grounded in community, driven by purpose, and built for the next generation of Indigenous athletes.

About Us

Five people smiling on a sports field

The Indigenous Athletics Academy began with a simple goal — to create meaningful opportunities for Indigenous youth through sport.

In 2024, we launched our first soccer camps, bringing high-quality training and mentorship directly into communities. What started small quickly grew as we saw the impact sport could have on confidence, connection, and growth.

Since then, we have worked alongside communities across British Columbia and supported over 500 Indigenous youth.

Each camp is more than just soccer. It is an opportunity for youth to grow as athletes and individuals, build life skills, and see new possibilities for their future.

Meet Mateo

IAA was founded by Mateo, an Indigenous athlete who understands what it takes to grow in sport and the importance of mentorship.

His vision is to give back through the game and create opportunities for the next generation to reach their full potential.
